All business brokers are licensed with the department of fair trading in their respective state or territory and can assist you in valuing your business, preparing it for sale, marketing it and negotiating with buyers. Business brokers must have a license in order to act on your behalf, and they are required to uphold the conditions set out in the Property, Stock and Business Agents Act 2002. If an agents wants to sell the business you should negotiate the advertising costs and commissions and be sure to check their sales history and qualifications.
