WAIT, IS THIS AN AD FOR A BUSINESS - OR A HOLIDAY?!!?
Make Money All Year Doing What Other People Pay to Do For A Few Days!!!
It doesn’t get any better than this if what you’re after is a relaxed, laid back lifestyle where “work” is what other people do to relax, but where the profits are self-propelled by the growing number tourists visiting the Margaret River enclave. What’s even better, aggressive Government advertising interstate and internationally is only fueling the tourist stampede:
A highly profitable owner managed business which doesn’t feel like work is a rare buying opportunity indeed. After all, how many business owners could boast to have this work schedule:
- Have lunch,
- Visit wineries and breweries
- Chat with clients and friends.
Alternatively, you could do very little, like the current owners, who currently restrict their duties to administration duties. (15 HOUR WEEK)
But there's a lot more to this business than working low hours and offering a sought-after lifestyle in one of the fastest growing regions in Western Australia. With virtually no capital outlay the new owner will have in his/her hands a considerable potential to grow revenues without the normal stress that’s reflected in other businesses.
· Cash Upfront Debtors………………………………… > Before Tour begins
· Work From Home:………………………………………> Low Overheads
· No Full time Employees:………………………………> Drivers Are Casuals
· Immediate Potential To Increase Sales:……… > Increase Profit with extra buses
· Established 12 Years:…………………………………...> A strong business
This is a true home-based business, reflecting a 100 percent gross margin. It would be hard to find another business with such a high margin and low overheads to generate sales almost $300,000 per year.
It employs no full-time staff, but instead utilises two casual part-time tour guides, meaning overheads can be reduced or increased depending on customer demand or the level of profit desired by its owners.
It is very easy to learn and operate, with lots of routine tasks such as answering enquiries and setting up tours.
Operating from a smart phone and laptop means the business can even be mobile, making it a fantastic lifestyle opportunity with the flexibility to run from any location. With an online booking system in place, bookings are confirmed immediately so there is no obligation to be behind a desk all day. The best part is, once on the bus, hosting a tour is fun and not really considered work.
At present the business occupies its owner for around 15 hours a week completing administration duties. However, the business is very flexible allowing the new owner to replace one of the tour drivers duties as the present owners did in previous years.
With pickups across the cape from Busselton, Dunsborough, Yallingup and down to the Margaret River and beach suburbs, the region provides a steady flow of tourists seeking to join a tour and see the attractions for which this region is famous. With three vehicles in the fleet (currently only two are utilised), a maximum of 54 guests can be on board on any given day.
The original and most popular tour includes two breweries, three vineyards, the chocolate factory and the cheese factory. There are also tours suitable for families: these focus on child-friendly activities and have specially prepared children’s food; and they visit those wineries and breweries which offer children’s play areas and toy baskets. Another stop is Gabriel’s, where chocolate is handcrafted fresh on site from imported cocoa beans.
It also has an exclusive night tour. This begins at around 2:00 pm on Fridays and has proven popular with visitors driving to the region that morning. A personalised itinerary can also be arranged for people who wish to book a private charter, arranged according to the guests’ requirements.
Being a smaller owner/operator gives the flexibility to accommodate relaxed and casual venues throughout the region, while many competitors are much larger and so have no flexibility to personalise their service. Many also don’t offer a chef-prepared lunch. This business has an excellent lunch location that it visits each day on the regular tour. Private groups are offered the option of two quality venues in the region. (or anywhere they request)
The business has always had a high repeat customer base; however, this has never been exploited, meaning the extensive database containing over 3000 clients details will be a readily accessible and inexpensive way to increase sales and referrals.
Margaret River is a growth region, driven mostly by tourism & vineyards. These tourists, almost without exception, visit wineries and breweries. Given the fact that both Tourism WA and the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) are investing in promoting the region, it would be reasonable to expect tourism numbers will steadily increase. Breaking news that the government will be mounting an extensive marketing campaign to drive international visitors to the southwest is also good news. Added to that, the Busselton Airport extension will bring more interstate and international visitors, as does the growing cruise ship market.
The current owners had no industry experience prior to starting the business and learned most about it during their day-to-day work. They will, however, provide the new owner with comprehensive post-settlement training. A new owner needs only general knowledge about how to run a business; a cheerful style; and an organised approach. Licences are only needed if the new owner intends being the tour driver.
