Established in 2018, Harro's Gaming Lounge is one of the only entertainment businesses in Geraldton. We have a large customer base of over 3000 that continues to grow.

We provide a safe clean environment for people of all ages to play video games on PC, Playstations, Xboxs, Nintendo and Virtual Reality. We have arcade games available and plenty of space for further expansion. We have a private function room and regularly host birthday parties and school/community groups.

Premises

We recently moved premises to an upstairs shop that we fitted out with a dark theme and colored lights. We have installed new air conditioners and have access to toilets. We also installed black out curtains and new flooring in the private function room.

Location

Located in Geraldton, Western Australia, we are 500km north of Perth. Situated a 5 min walk from the beach we are in the center of town with foot traffic being a main contributor to our business. We are located between the main street and the post office.

Trading Hours

These can be changed based on the time of the year. During school holidays we extend our hours from 11am - 6pm every day. Outside of school hours we close Mondays and trade between 2pm and 6pm tuesday - friday and 10am - 6pm Saturday & Sunday. This business has the potential to be open until late Friday and Saturday nights.

Lease

Our lease is year on year at the moment but when our lease is up in October they would like us to sign on for a longer period.

Financials

2018/2019 FY: We turned over $63,000 with 11 months of trading - opened in August of the 2018/2019 FY

2019/2020 FY: We turned over $51,000 with 9.5 months of trading - We closed for 2.5 months due to COVID

2020/2021 FY: We have currently turned over $31,000 with 5 months of trading - We closed for a 1.5 months to move shops and have had the strongest figures this January.

We have no debt and started this business on savings with no obligations to suppliers.

We have always been able to cover expenses with business earnings. We did spend money from our own savings to refit the upstairs premises.

This is an owner run business although it would have the capacity to have a junior to help out on weekends/school holidays. We have also taken on work experience students in the past through Job link midwest.

All training will be provided by the owner over a 2 month period, we have policy and procedure manuals to refer to as well.

Potential

This business has the potential for expansion and growth. There is a competitive scene that can be harnessed with regular events that can be hosted to draw in customers over quieter periods.

With the large space we have available more consoles and PCs can be added to generate more revenue. There is also the potential for adding more food options, competitions and viewing events.

School and community groups have previously hired the venue for team building events.

If you are an IT technician this business can also double as a workshop which we have done in the past. The sale of business will come with a large amount of tools and parts for doing repairs which can be used or sold if not needed.

Reason For Sale

This is an owner run business, we are wishing to take the next step in starting a family and feel like we want to put 100% of our effort into that rather than 50% into our business and 50% into our family life. For us this business was a massive risk that paid off and we would love to see it continue on rather than close down.
